Location map of the Windfall Property relative to local infrastructure.

The Noront Option consists of 29 of 213 claims of the Windfall property. The remaining 184 claims consist of a 50-50 joint venture partnership between Murgor Resources and Freewest Resources Canada Inc.

The Windfall Gold Project, Quebec, Canada

(last updated May 25, 2010)

Location:

The Windfall Gold Property is located approximately 55 kilometres to the southeast of the Town of Desmaraisville, Quebec, where Metanor Resources currently operates the Bachelor Lake Gold Mine and Mill. The property is linked to the Bachelor Lake Mill by an extensive network of all season gravel roads. The property also covers 29 claims where Noront Resources operates the Windfall Lake underground exploration project and where Murgor retains a 25% interest. Noront and Murgor’s exploration ramp is exploring three (3) high grade gold zones.

The Windfall property is located 5 kilometres north of the Barry Open Pit Gold Mine where Murgor retains a 1% Net Smelter Return royalty.

Description:

The property consists of 213 mining claims covering an area of 8,995 ha.

Ownership:

  • Murgor owns a 50% interest in 184 claims of the property with equal partner Freewest Resources. Murgor is the operator of that part of the project.
  • Murgor owns a 25% interest in 29 claims of the property optioned to Noront Resources Inc. in February, 2007. Noront Resources Ltd. now owns a 50% interest in the 29 claims and is currently the operator of that portion of the project. Freewest Resources retain the remaining 25% interest.
  • On October 13, 2009, Murgor granted Eagle Hill Resources Inc. (TSX-V: EAG) the exclusive right to earn all of Murgor's interest in the Windfall Gold Property in north-western Quebec. Murgor also signed a property management contract with Eagle Hill whereby Murgor will be conducting the exploration work financed by Eagle Hill on the Windfall property. The agreements are subjected to regulatory approval and click here to read the terms of agreement.

Geology:

The Windfall Property covers the zone of intersection between the EW-trending Urban- Barry deformation zone and the Milner-Murgor shear corridor (respective strike lengths of approximately 15 and 12 km). The property also covers the northern half of the Windfall Felsic Complex, a package of quartz-phyric rhyolitic flows and felsic pyroclastic rocks prospective for gold mineralization. Three new gold mineralized zones were discovered by trenching and drilling in October 2004 and a total of 13,000 meters of drilling has been completed since with very impressive results.

In late 2006, Noront Resources intersected Bonanza-grade mineralization of 1,327.9 g/t (42.8 ounces) Gold over a 4.80 metre interval within 200 metres to the south of the Windfall property. It is that intersection that prompted Noront to option part of Murgor's property and initiate an extensive underground exploration program.

Noront’s objective with this underground exploration program is to enhance the geological understanding of the mineralized system, to carry-out bulk sampling of the mineralized zones and to formalize a resource estimate.

Noront completed a 1,119 meter ramp in 2008, including 32.5 meters of drifting in the F-11 Gold Zone and 102 meters of drifting in the F-17 Gold Zone. Muck samples at the F-11 Gold Zone have averaged 3.95 g/t gold whereas muck samples over a 20 meter length of the F-17 Gold Zone averaged 2.34 g/t gold. Due to the free gold nature of the mineralization, a bulk sample will be necessary to determine the true grades of the F-11 and F-17 Gold Zones.

The exploration ramp is currently under care and maintenance pending assay results and interpretation.

Mineralization:

Two types of mineralization are present at the Windfall Property:

  • At the F-11 Zone, mineralization consists of strongly deformed and altered rhyolite and rhyolitic fragmental rocks with up to 25% disseminated, banded and stringer pyrite, associated locally with magnetite and visible gold. Grades of up to 85.80 g/t Au over 4.00 metres and 40.62 g/t Au over 5.9 meters have been encountered in channel samples whereas drilling has intersected up to 11.91 g/t Au over 17.0 meters.
  • At Zone F-17 and F-51, mineralization consists of large quartz-tourmaline-pyrite veins, locally with visible gold, hosted in a NE trending steeply north dipping brittle-ductile shear zones. Ore shoots at the F-17 Zone are plunging at approximately 10 degrees to the NE whereas ore shoots at the F-51 Zone appear to plunge at 45 degrees to the NE. The F-17 and F-51 Zones are only known from drilling with intersections such as 9.99 g/t Au over 4.00 meters, 8.89 g/t Au over 11.0 meters, 15.97 g/t Au over 7.6 meters and 44.47 g/t Au over 2.0 meters.

Status and Future Work:

Murgor is planning an extensive exploration program at Windfall in 2009 aimed at exploring, among other targets, the NE extension of the structure where Noront reported an intersection of 1,327.9 g/t Gold over 4.80 meters in late 2006. Murgor is planning a program of mechanical trenching, sampling and drilling (see map of targets).

At the Noront option, due to the free gold nature of the mineralization, a bulk sample will be necessary to determine the true grades of the F-11 and F-17 Gold Zones.
