Chibougamau District The Fancamp Gold Property

(latest update May 25, 2010)

Location:

The Fancamp Property is located approximately 30 kilometers southeast of the town of Chapais, and 55 kilometres south of the town of Chibougamau, in north-western Québec.

Description:

The Fancamp Property consists of 66 mining claims covering an area of 2,275 ha.

Ownership:

100% Murgor

Geology:

The Property lies in the Archean, Abitibi Greenstone belt and is underlain by NE-striking mafic to intermediate/felsic volcanic rocks that are flanked to the east by the syntectonic Verneuil Pluton (granodiorite/tonalite) and, to the west, by the smaller Chico Stock.

The Property covers a six kilometre strike length of the Fancamp Deformation Zone (FDZ) and subsidiary shear zones. The NE-trending, 20 kilometres long, FDZ, is host to at least 15 gold deposits and occurrences, including the Chevrier (1.1 Mt @ 6.4 g/t Au) and Chevrier South (230 Mt @ 0.3 g/t Au) deposits (located 5 kilometers northeast and on strike with the Fancamp Property). Other important gold deposits in the area include the Joe Mann Mine (6.65 Mt @ 8.54 g/t Au) 12 kilometers to the southeast.

Mineralization :

Five (5) gold mineralized zones have been discovered to date on the Fancamp Property. In the mid-80’s, Murgor identified Zones "A" and "B" through drilling and underground development. Results included:

Zone "A": 8.22 g/t Au over 6.10 m, 5.14 g/t Au over 3.36 m and 4.60 g/t Au over 3.05 m
Zone "B": 9.3 g/t Au over 8.2 meters

In August of 2009, Murgor carried-out a mechanical trenching program to better understand the structural setting of the mineralization and identified three (3) additional mineralized zones Results from the mechanical trenching were published in a press release on September 24, 2009 and are as follows:

West Structure: East Structure: South Trench:
- 10.40 g/t Au over 4.30 meters
- 5.21 g/t Au over 5.60 meters
- 18.03 g/t Au over 1.60 meters
- 5.75 g/t Au over 0.90 meters
- 6.69 g/t Au over 1.40 meters
- 13.05 g/t Au over 0.80 meters
- 18.90 g/t Au over 1.00 meters
- 7.67 g/t Au over 1.00 meters
- 5.71 g/t Au over 0.98 meters

The target consists of a large NE-trending shear zone with a number of high-grade extensional quartz veins of up to 5 feet (1.52 meters) in width. The East and West Structures consist of two parallel, NE-trending gold-bearing structures, located 15 meters apart, and traced for over 35 meters along strike. The West Structure is a new discovery whereas the East Structure uncovered the south extension of Zone "B". The South Trench exposed a similar structure located 325 meters to the SW and on strike with the Northeast Trench.

Targets :

  1. High gold grades are encountered in fold hinges within the NE-trending shear zones. A review of the magnetic map of the property shows several of these fold hinges that have never been tested (see figure).
  2. The A and B Zones remain open down plunge (below 50 meters vertical depth) and partially open along strike. The down-plunge extension of the two zones are obvious drill targets.
  3. Gold mineralization from the A-zone to the E- Zone has a strike length of more than two kilometres. Gaps between the B and D Zones and between the D and E Zones have never been tested despite prospective IP anomalies and are ready for drill testing.
  4. The Fancamp Deformation Zone has been the subject of very limited exploration within the property boundaries. The property has not been effectively explored since 1988 and has great depth potential.

Status:

In January of 2004, Murgor resumed exploration at the Fancamp Property, after a hiatus of nearly 16 years. In the mid-80’s, Murgor conducted extensive exploration on the property that concentrated on two mineralized zones and included modest underground developments. This work yielded results such as 6.10 m. @ 8.22 g/t Au, 3.36 m. @ 5.14 g/t Au and 3.05 m. @ 4.60 g/t Au.

In 2006, Murgor carried-out 60 kilometers of line cutting that was followed by a 46 kilometer induced polarization ground geophysics survey. Results of the geophysical survey show a 2.7 kilometer long high chargeability, high resistivity anomaly trending NE and flanking a high magnetic anomaly. All mineralized zones are situated within this anomaly.

During the period from June to October, 2006, Murgor carried out prospecting, and approximately eight hundred and sixty-seven square metres (867 m2) of mechanical trenching, followed by channel sampling and detailed trench mapping. Grab samples collected during the prospecting and field investigations assayed up to 47.9 g/t Au for samples from the A zone, up to 10.15 g/t Au for samples from the B zone, and up to 8.77 g/t Au for samples from two newly discovered gold occurrences. Significant assay results were also obtained from channel samples at Trench A including 2.24 g/t Au over 3.52 metres, 3.81 g/t Au over 1.97 metres, and 5.96 g/t Au over 1.01 metres. The best mineralized intercept encountered at Trench B is 6.57 g/t Au over 0.95 metres.

The Embry Gold Project

The property was staked by Murgor in the spring of 2009 and consists of 37 mining claims covering 2,060 hectares. The grassroots property covers a 15 kilometre strike extent of the EW-trending Kapunapotagen fault, where it is intersected by NNE-trending gold-bearing shear-zones which typically host gold mineralization in the Chibougamau Mining District. Gold grains were discovered in a basal till survey at the property during the fall of 2009. Further exploration is planned for the summer of 2010 to follow-up on the encouraging results.
