Red Lake District The Gullrock Gold Property
(latest update February 10, 2010)
Location:
The Gullrock Property is located in the Red Lake Gold Mining District of Ontario, approximately 10 kilometers SE of the Town of Red Lake. All season gravel roads provide easy access to the property.
Status:
The Gullrock Property consists of eight claims covering 1,409 hectares, optioned by Murgor on August 20, 2009. Murgor will be earning a 100% interest in the property over a period of 48 months by making aggregate cash payments of $88,500 and issuing a total of 120,000 common shares.
Description:
The Gullrock Gold Property is located one kilometer east of Goldcorp’s Red Lake property and on strike with the Campbell-Red Lake Gold Mine. The property covers a five (5) kilometer strike length of a structure known as “the Mine Trend” which accounts for more than 24 million ounces of gold. The famed Campbell-Red Lake Mine, and the Cochenour-Willans and McKenzie Gold Mine past producers are all situated on the "Mine Trend" structure. More than 20 million ounces of gold were produced by these mines to date and reserves at the Campbell-Red Lake Mine alone, stand at 3.6 million gold ounces (Goldcorp’s annual report 2008).
The Gullrock property bears strikingly similar geology as the Campbell-Red Lake Mine setting.
Underlain by the Balmer Formation,
Five (5) kilometers of strike length of the "Mine Trend",
Proximal to the Confederation-Balmer unconformity,
Presence of ultramafic rocks and Temiskaming-Type sediments,
Presence of F2 generation folds.
Despite the very favorable geology the property has seen very limited exploration work and its exploration potential is deemed exceptional. Past exploration has focussed on the Fox Farm Ag-Pb occurrence and a late ENE structure which have no bearing on gold mineralization in the district. At Gullrock, the Mine Trend structure remains untested.
Murgor started exploration at Gullrock in January of 2010 with a helicopter borne, high resolution magnetic and electromagnetic geophysical survey. This survey, combined with a complete compilation of past exploration work, identified untested geophysical anomalies on the property that coincide with gold in soil geochemical anomalies in the Mine Trend structure. These new exploration targets will be tested in 2010 with ground geophysics, mechanical trenching and drilling if warranted. The exploration program is scheduled to start in the summer of 2010.
Ownership:
100% Murgor
Geology:
Reserves stand at 3.6 million gold ounces at the Campbell-Red Lake Mine (Goldcorp’s annual report 2008). Despite the fact that the Gullrock property geology bears similar geology as the Campbell-Red Lake Mine setting, the property has seen very limited exploration work and its exploration potential is deemed excellent.
Murgor has already identified untested geophysical anomalies on the property that coincide with gold in soil geochemical anomalies. These exploration targets will be tested in 2009-2010. Under the terms of the option, Murgor will earn a 100% interest in the property by making aggregate cash payments of $88,500, issuing a total of 120,000 common shares over a period of 48 months and by incurring $50,000 of exploration expenditures over a period of 12 months.
Red Lake deposits:
- Campbell: 20.0 Mt @ 0.56 oz/t (11.2 Moz)
- Red Lake: 11.0 Mt @ 0.66 oz/t (7.3 Moz)
- Cochenour: 2.3 Mt @ 0.54 oz/t (1.2 Moz)
- Madsen: 8.7 Mt @ 0.28 oz/t (2.4 Moz)
- MacKenzie: 2.4 Mt @ 0.28 oz/t (0.65 Moz)
- Howey: 4.6 Mt @ 0.09 oz/t (0.40 Moz)
- Howey Hasaga: 1.5 Mt @ 0.14 oz/t (0.20 Moz)
- Strarratt Olsen: 0.9 Mt @ 0.18 oz/t ( 0.16 Moz)
Gullrock vs Campbell (Red Lake Gold Mine) :
- 11 km on strike with the Campbell / Red Lake Mine (18.5 million ounces of gold to date)
- Covers a 5 km strike length of the Mine Trend
- Covers the intersection of Favourable NNE and SE trending Structures
- All lithological & structural features that are present at the Campbell / Red Lake Mine
- Property is Under-Explored
The Premiere Gold Property
The Premiere Property is located in the Uchi Belt and consists of three mining claims covering 524 hectares. The property is located immediately south of the Hudson-Patricia mine which produced 1900 ounces of gold with an average grade of 0.165 oz/ton. The property covers the Rouillard and the Particia-Dent exploration shafts. At both localities, gold is hosted by quartz veins ranging in width from 40 cm to 1.0 meter wide grades of up to 0.64 ounces per ton. During due diligence work, Murgor geologists collected three grab samples that returned assays of 128.5 g/t, 116.2 g/t and 9.0 g/t gold.
